It is still January, so I figured a New Years post would still be timely.  I usually discuss substantive legal matters on this blog, but this blog post is more about the current direction of my law practice rather than actual substantive legal matters. As we step into the promising horizon of a new year, it is only fitting to share with our clients and audience the exciting developments taking place at the Law Offices of Mark Ruiz. Since our establishment in 2011, we have been dedicated to providing comprehensive legal services across a spectrum of practice areas. However, as the legal landscape evolves, so do we. In this blog post, we are thrilled to unveil our new direction for 2024.

Diverse Expertise Since 2011: The Law Offices of Mark Ruiz has been a stalwart advocate for clients dealing with a wide array of legal matters. From real estate litigation to family law, criminal law, and estate litigation, our journey has been marked by a commitment to excellence and unwavering client support. While we have historically handled various practice areas, we have decided to sharpen our focus in response to changing demands and client needs.

A Focused Approach: Over the years, the focus of our office has evolved to focus on Estate Planning, Business Law and Real Estate Law.  Within these practice areas, in our pursuit of delivering unparalleled legal services, we have strategically narrowed our focus to two key areas. First and foremost, we are intensifying our efforts in the realm of estate planning. Our seasoned team is dedicated to crafting meticulous wills and trusts that align with our clients' unique needs and aspirations. This specialized focus allows us to offer an elevated level of expertise in this critical aspect of law.

The second area of concentration for Mark Ruiz Law Offices is estate administration, covering both trust administration and probate. Recognizing the intricacies of these processes, we have established a network of professionals, including accountants, real estate agents, and appraisers. This collaborative approach ensures a seamless and comprehensive experience for our clients during estate administration.

Mediation for Resolution: In our unwavering commitment to resolving disputes and fostering win-win solutions, we are excited to announce our increased emphasis on mediation. Mark Ruiz, having obtained his mediator certificate in 2023, has been actively involved in mediating cases at Sacramento Court through California Lawyers for the Arts. Mark Ruiz is also a Fee Arbiter through the Sacramento Bar Association and has experience adjudicating attorney client fee disputes. Building on this experience, we are expanding our private mediation practice to offer alternative dispute resolution services across all our practice areas.

Looking Ahead: As we embark on this new trajectory, we extend our warmest New Year wishes to all our clients. We are eager and dedicated to assisting you in the best possible way, whether through meticulous estate planning, smooth estate administration, or effective mediation. Although we still take on a variety of matters in the general area of Estate Planning, Business Law and Real Estate Law, we are focusing even further on the drafting and administration of Estate Plans as well as Mediating disputes in the practice areas in which Mark Ruiz has significant litigation experience.
